WAKEFIELD LIONS DANCE

Our work is driven by core values of inclusivity, sustainability, and education. HF brings world cultures to life through programs that highlight traditional performances, music, dance, cuisine, and language. We place a special emphasis on the rich history and symbolism of the Chinese lion dance, which embodies the pursuit of good fortune and resilience. This art, alongside other cultural activities like Asian calligraphy and musical introductions to folk instruments such as the bamboo flute, guzheng, and erhu, provides audiences not only with entertainment but also with an opportunity for direct engagement and learning.

Unlike venues that present performances as isolated spectacles, HF invites participants to engage with the traditions directly. Our interactive workshops allow individuals of all backgrounds to learn the art forms’ techniques, histories, and cultural significance, fostering a sense of unity and shared appreciation.
