Wudang Martial Arts
Wudang Mountain is known as a Taoist holy land, the most sacred mountain of Chinese Taoism (Daoism) and the place where internal martial arts such as Tai Chi originated. The first temple was built during the Tang Dynasty (618-907). It is listed as a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1994.
Simplicity, harmony, peace and retreat into nature are some of the basic principles of Taoism.
Many travel to the temples to help gain stability by practicing the internal martial arts and thereby finding clarity, improve health and cultivating wisdom by discovering their true path in life and be with nature.
